It’s rare to see many true freshmen take the field for Georgia Tech in one season. The academic rigors combined with time needed to learn the offensive and defensive systems are a big hurdle for new college students. For that reason, it is typical to take a redshirt year wherein a player remains on scholarship and does not use one of four years of NCAA eligibility but cannot see game action.
If there was only one game to appear in this season, it would be Thursday’s beating of Alcorn State, as the game was out of hand early.
