Georgia Tech received commitment No. 4 of the 2019 recruiting cycle this morning with the news that 6-foot-4 offensive lineman Larry Dowdy will play out his college eligibility for the Jackets.
An unranked prospect out of Belmont, NC, Dowdy chose Georgia Tech over offers from a number of other notable option teams ranging from Georgia Southern to Wofford and Appalachian State. Georgia Tech became his lone power five offer just yesterday.
Recruited primarily by new safeties coach Shiel Wood, previously of Wofford, Dowdy becomes the first offensive line prospect of the 2019 class. He joins safety Jeremiah Smith, wide receiver Zach Owens, and running back Devin Ellison as future Yellow Jackets in the early goings of the cycle.
