A ex-Georgia Tech football star and his wife could learn today the fate of their parental rights over thier 10 children, including the one they’re accused of imprisoning in a basement room.
Recardo and Therian Wimbush are fighting the state’s attempt in Gwinnett County Juvenile Court to sever their rights. They hope to get their kids placed with friends while social workers say they want the children split up permanently among relatives.
Both sides have been making their case to Juvenile Judge Robert Rodatus for months in a series of hearings. Today, the parents’ lawyers are calling experts they hope will debunk the state’s case and the testimony is expected to wrap up to allow the judge to rule.
