It is a Catch-22 situation. Answer this question (honestly if you can): If you are an Atlantic Coast Conference caliber basketball prospect, why would you pick Boston College?
If you argue academics, Virginia, Duke and Georgia Tech are available alternatives, as are schools such as Notre Dame, Stanford, Northwestern and Vanderbilt.
Participating in a post season tournament–and we’re not even talking the NCAA or NIT here–is an iffy proposition.
Support on campus is luke warm. The facilities are the worst in the ACC.
If you wanted to stay in New England, you could make a case for Harvard, which offers a better education and more exposure at the NCAA tournament level as well as access to the city of Boston.
