Georgia Tech received its latest commitment for the 2019 recruiting class on Sunday evening with the announcement that linebacker Cornelius Evans will be joining Geoff Collins on the Flats.
A three-star outside linebacking prospect from Central Gwinnett High School in Lawrenceville, Evans chose Tech over reported offers from Rutgers, Coastal Carolina, and others. His commitment comes just a couple of days after he made a visit to Georgia Tech, per his 247Sports page.
He is the second linebacker in the 2019 class, joining early signee Chico Bennett Jr., and could have a shot at some early playing time given the current status of Tech’s front seven, especially with Brant Mitchell’s departure and speculation that Bruce Jordan-Swilling could see some time at running back this season.
