CONWAY, S.C. -- Georgia State used a 22-5 second quarter Friday night to defeat Coastal Carolina 73-55 in GSU's first Sun Belt contest of the season.
GSU (5-3, 1-0 Sun Belt) hit seven 3-pointers in the first half to double up the Chanticleers (3-4, 0-3 Sun Belt) at halftime. Taniyah Worth, who led GSU with 17 points and five rebounds, scored 13 of her points in the second half to help thwart a CCU comeback effort.
After leading by four at the end of the first quarter, GSU outscored CCU 22-5 in the second period, getting two 3-pointers each from Taylor Henderson and Ashley Foster.
