PEACHTREE CITY, Ga.- The Georgia State women’s tennis team earned a 4-2 victory over the No. 4 seed South Alabama in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament finals to claim the conference title and an automatic NCAA Tournament bid. Senior Kristin Rehse clinched the match for GSU, her second clinch of the tournament.
With the win, the Panthers improved to 12-14 while the Jaguars fell to 20-4.
GSU opened doubles play strong, taking the point at the top two positions. Damira Muminovic and Daniela Ramirez defeated Alexandria Stiteler and Yu Fujioka 6-4, while Kristin Rehse and Lara Vovk clinched the point with a 6-4 win.
