ATLANTA – The Georgia State women's soccer team spent the month of June collecting donations for Atlanta Community Food Bank as part of the Soccer United Against Hunger initiative supported by Soccer United Coaches.
The Panthers collected more than 200 pounds of food in addition to cash donations. ACFB estimates that the food would provide about 175 meals for those in need and the cash donation would provide a further 940 meals.
"The Atlanta Community Food Bank's need has significantly increased since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic,'' said Kyle Waide, President and CEO of Atlanta Community Food Bank.
