ATLANTA - Georgia State accepted an invitation to the Women's Basketball Invitational and will face North Alabama in Florence, Ala., Thursday at 7 p.m. ET.
The Panthers will play in the postseason for the first time since 2002-03 as head coach Gene Hill continues to raise the bar in his first season at the helm.
Georgia State's 17 wins this season are the most since 2003-04. GSU won seven more conference games this year than last. Only four teams in D-I had a better win improvement in conference play this season.
More information on Thursday's first-round WBI game will be made available Tuesday.
