ATLANTA -- Making his first career start, fifth-year senior Will White pitched five scoreless innings to earn his first career victory and lead Georgia State to a 5-1 victory over Savannah State Tuesday at the GSU Baseball Complex.
Five Georgia State (12-25) pitchers combined to allow just one run on five hits with seven strikeouts, while Brandon Bell paced the offense with three hits and one run batted in.
White (1-1) gave up just two hits with a career-high five strikeouts in five shutout innings, a career-long outing for the left-hander from Marietta, Ga.
