ATLANTA- As part of a series highlighting our alumni, this week we caught up with Lane Carico, a former Georgia State beach volleyball player.
Carico began her collegiate volleyball career as a standout court player at University of Miami where she was named the 2011 ACC Player of the Year. Upon graduation she moved to Atlanta to compete on Georgia State's inaugural beach volleyball team in 2013.
The California native compiled 34 wins in her one season in downtown Atlanta, which still stands as the GSU record for most wins in a single season. Carico and teammate Katie Madewell advanced to the semifinals at the AVCA National Championship, the highest placing at a national championship in any sport in school history.
