BIRMINGHAM, ALA – In the Vulcan Invitational on Saturday, Georgia State was led by a win by LaPorscha Wells in the shot put, a second in the mile by Stephanie Berger and a second by Ravin Gilbert in the 60m preliminaries.
Wells has had a first-place showing in all three indoor meets this season for GSU. Today, she won the 36-thrower shot put competition with a throw of 15.22m (49-11.25). Teammate Alysiah Whittaker was third in this event (13.99m, 45-10.75).
Berger clocked her mile in 5:08.51 to finish second of the 23 runners in her first competition in that event this winter.
