BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Georgia State won the Emory Crossplex Invite Sunday in Birmingham with a team score of 99 points, beating second-place Central Arkansas by 14 points.
LaPorscha Wells won first place in the weight throw for the third straight event. Her throw of 22.56m set a new school, meet, conference and facility record and is currently tied for longest in the NCAA this season. The previous facility record was 22.42m set at the 2016 NCAA Indoor Championships. Georgia State put five throwers in the top-6 of the weight throw. Tracy Dorcemont threw a new personal best 18.
