BOONE, N.C.- Georgia State volleyball fell short in their Sun Belt opener, dropping a four-setter (23-25, 25-22, 25-18, 25-18) to Appalachian State on Friday. The loss dropped the Panthers to 4-8 on the season.
Leah Wilcox and Sydney Stroud both recorded double-digit kills for the second straight match. Stroud became the first Panther to eclipse the 100 kills mark with 101 on the season. Jordan Shoemaker would lead the Georgia State offensive scheme with 24 assists. Freshman Kampbell Hehr would add 18 assists of her own.
The Panthers would take the first point of the match and would never relinquish the lead in the opening frame.
