ATLANTA – Senior Linn Timmermann has been named this week’s Sun Belt Conference Women’s Tennis Student-Athlete of The Week. This is the second time in three weeks she has won the award.
Timmermann recorded two important three-set victories against conference foes Troy and #46 South Alabama. The Panthers won both matches 4-3.
Against Troy’s Jiayuan Xue, she rallied from dropping the first 2-6 to win 2-6, 6-1, 6-0 to give the Panthers a 3-2 lead.
Versus South Alabama, Timmermann faced the No. 91 ranked player in the nation in Alexandria Stiteler. The senior from Rostock, Germany, dropped the first set once again, but rallied to win 3-6, 6-1, 7-6.
