ATLANTA -- The Georgia State Department of Athletics shattered all previous records with a 3.30 grade-point average for the spring semester and 227 student-athletes earning academic honors.
The 3.30 GPA topped the previous semester record of 3.18 set last spring. The outstanding semester gives the athletic department a GPA of 3.22 for the 2016-17 academic year. The combined cumulative GPA for all student-athletes now sits at 3.25, also an all-time high.
The Georgia State men's golf team, which won the Sun Belt Conference title to earn an NCAA berth, has the highest team GPA at 3.92 for the spring semester, just ahead of the women's cross country program at 3.
