Georgia State's Dylan Strickland was named National Player of the Week by Collegiate Baseball newspaper after he hit .500 in four games last week with five homers and 10 RBI.
The sophomore infielder from Loganvile High School went 7-for-12 with five homers, nine RBI and eight runs scored to lead the Panthers to a three-game sweep of Troy in which GSU scored 46 runs.
Strickland's five home runs came in a span of seven plate appearances over Games 2 and 3 of the Troy series. He homered twice in his final three at-bats in Game 2, and then he homered three times in his first four at-bats in Game 3.
