ATLANTA -- Preseason practice is underway, and the season opener is just four weeks away for the Georgia State Panthers, led by returning starting quarterback Dan Ellington.
Ellington, the senior from Olive Branch, Miss., and the Panthers open the season at Tennessee on Saturday, Aug. 31 at 3:30 p.m. (ESPNU), while Georgia State's home opener is one week later on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 7 p.m. vs. Furman at Georgia State Stadium.
Ellington returns to run the attack after leading the team in passing and rushing in his first year with the program. He gained 2,119 yards through the air and 625 yards on the ground while accounting for 17 touchdowns (12 passing, 5 rushing) to earn All-Sun Conference honors.
