MOBILE, Ala. – South Alabama defended its home turf on Sunday afternoon as the Jaguars handed Georgia State a 3-0 loss at The Cage.
The loss was GSU’s second in a row, dropping the team to 4-6-1 overall and 1-2 in conference play. South Alabama, in sole possession of first place in the league standings, improved to 8-2-2 on the year and 3-0-1 in the Sun Belt.
The Jaguars used an early goal in the sixth minute of Sunday’s contest to take 1-0 lead and added a second goal in the 27th minute when a cross connected with the Sun Belt’s leading scorer Briana Morris who headed in her ninth goal of the season.
