MOBILE, Ala. – Georgia State’s softball team placed four players on the All-Sun Belt team, the conference announced Tuesday. Seniors Taylor Anderson and Katie Worley, junior Mandy Blackwell and sophomore Ivie Drake each made the second-team.
Only two teams had more all-conference honors, as the Panthers earned four nods on the All-Sun Belt second-team. For Anderson and Drake, it’s the second All-Sun Belt honor in their careers.
Ivie Drake (Sophomore, C, Early Childhood Education)
First in the Sun Belt and 15th in the NCAA for walks… Leads GSU in average, home runs and slugging… Seventh in Sun Belt in average and third in both slugging and on-base percentage… Ranks fourth in the Sun Belt in runs scored… Fifth-most in home runs in the Sun Belt, ranks 32nd in NCAA… Has 19 RBI in conference play, seventh-most in Sun Belt… Also a great defensive player behind the plate and at first base… Leads the Sun Belt with five players picked off… Has only allowed 23 stolen bases… Has 14 multi-hit games and eight multi-RBI games, including two performances with five or more RBI… Has started every contest this season.
