Softball Gets 2019 Season Underway in Hawaii

HONOLULU, Hawaii - Georgia State dropped a pair of games to open the season Thursday night at the Hawaii Paradise Classic in Honolulu.

Game 1:

Saint Mary’s handed GSU its first loss of the season Thursday, a 7-5 defeat at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium. The Gaels scored seven runs on 10 hits.

Caitlin Ray went 1-for-4 at the plate for the Panthers with a two-RBI double.

Down 7-2 entering the bottom of the sixth, GSU scored a run on a fielder’s choice before Ray’s big, two-out hit brought the Panthers to within just two runs at 7-5.
