ATLANTA -- Quarterback Jaquez Parks from Hinds (Miss.) Community College, a former Georgia prep player of the year at Griffin High School, has joined the Georgia State program.
Parks, who is eligible this season and has three seasons to play, was on the field for Georgia State's Saturday morning workout, the Panthers' third practice of the preseason. The 6-1, 205-pound redshirt sophomore is wearing No. 2.
Last fall at Hinds, Parks passed for 1,427 yards in nine games, throwing 16 touchdown passes with just four interceptions while completing 55 percent of his passes. He added 208 yards rushing and five touchdowns.
