ATLANTA – Georgia State sophomore defender George Proctor was named Sun Belt men’s soccer Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.
Proctor played a part in both of GSU’s wins last week, scoring the game-winning goal off a free kick from about 30 yards out to boost the Panthers to a 2-1 victory over Belmont and helping pitch GSU’s second shutout in a 4-0 thrashing of Presbyterian.
The Leeds, England, native is part of a Georgia State back line that is ranked first in the conference with a goals against average of 0.
