STATESBORO, Ga. – K.K. Williams scored a career-high 22 points to lead Georgia State to an 83-66 win over rival Georgia Southern at Hanner Fieldhouse Saturday afternoon.
Williams drained six 3-pointers on eight attempts and registered four steals as the Panthers (11-9, 5-4 Sun Belt) ran away with things early.
After leading 21-11 at the end of the first quarter, Georgia State used a 17-2 run to increase its lead going into halftime. GSU led 47-25 at the break, tied for the second most points scored in a half by GSU this season.
Georgia Southern closed the gap in the second half, but GSU finished the fourth quarter strong to claim its sixth straight win over the rival Eagles.
