TROY, Ala. – Roger Carter caught a pair of touchdowns from redshirt-freshman quarterback Cornelious Brown and Georgia State survived with a 36-34 win over Troy on Saturday afternoon at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
Georgia State (2-2, 1-2 Sun Belt) topped Troy (3-2, 1-1 Sun Belt) for a second-straight season, but the win wasn't secure until the very end.
Troy's Jacob Free, replacing the injured Gunnar Watson, found Reggie Todd on an 11-yard touchdown reception with 37 seconds to play, but the Trojans missed the two-point conversion that would have tied the game.
Brown went 20-of-30 for 169 yards and two touchdowns, both to Carter, who finished with seven catches for 72 yards.
