HOUSTON - Georgia State's women's basketball team picked up its first loss of the season Friday at the Tudor Fieldhouse, falling 66-49 to Rice.
Jada Lewis led the Panthers in scoring with 14 points. Walnatia Wright recorded her second double-double of the season with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Allison Johnson also finished in double digits with 13 points.
Rice got off to a hot start, making 69% of their shots from the field in the first half. The Owls used a 13-1 run in the first quarter and a second 13-1 run in the second quarter to pull away.
