ATLANTA -- With the season opener two weeks from today, the Georgia State football team scrimmaged Saturday morning at Georgia State Stadium.
The Panthers open the 2019 season on Saturday, Aug. 31, when Georgia State travels to Tennessee for a 3:30 p.m. game at Neyland Stadium. GSU's home opener at Georgia State Stadium is Saturday, Sept. 7 at 7 p.m. vs. Furman.
The Panthers ran over 110 offensive plays in the scrimmage, with an emphasis on goal-line and red zone possessions, and also spent considerable time on all the special teams phases.
Head coach Shawn Elliott said that the execution was a little "up-and-down" today on both sides of the ball, but the one constant is senior quarterback Dan Ellington.
