Panthers Remains Unbeaten, Tops South Carolina 3-1

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Georgia State scored two first half goals just 51 seconds part, added another one late, and earned a 3-1 win over South Carolina on Thursday night at Stone Stadium.

Junior Matthew Fearnley got Georgia State (2-0, 0-0 Sun Belt) on the board with a goal in the lower left corner of the net with 12:51 to play in the first half for his first goal of the year. Freshman Jeryn Hodge responded less than a minute later with his first career goal to give the Panthers a 2-0 advantage.

South Carolina cut the deficit in half in the 69th minute before freshman Simon Carlson found the back of the net in the 85th minute, scoring his first career goal and helping secure the win.
