MONTGOMERY -- Georgia State rallied from a 5-1 deficit, tying the game on Luke Boynton's 2-run single in the seventh inning, but the Panthers fell to Texas State 6-5 on a walk-off homer in the 12th inning in an elimination game at the Guardian Credit Union Sun Belt Conference Championship at Riverwalk Stadium.
Georgia State ends its season at 30-29, earning their third winning season in four years under head coach Brad Stromdahl, including back-to-back 30-win seasons for the first time since Stromdahl was a GSU assistant coach from 2008-11.
Max Ryerson drove in three runs for the Panthers, including his 20th homer of the season with a solo shot in the first inning.
