ATLANTA - Georgia State defeated UL Monroe 68-46 Thursday at GSU Sports Arena behind an overpowering defense and balanced offensive attack, as the Panthers hit six 3-pointers and shot 53% for the game while forcing 24 turnovers.
Georgia State (12-9, 6-4 Sun Belt) was led by five players scoring nine or more points, while the defense held UL Monroe (7-14, 1-9 Sun Belt) to just 31% shooting. The Panthers have now won five of its last seven games.
Madison Ervin and K.K. Williams each scored 11 points to lead Georgia State. Janessa Murphy scored 10 points, and Jada Lewis and Walnatia Wright added nine apiece.
