ATLANTA-Coming off a stretch of 12 days without a game, four Panthers scored in double figures as Georgia State earned an 83-77 win over UT Arlington to open defense of its back-to-back Sun Belt Conference titles on Thursday night at the GSU Sports Arena.
Senior Damon Wilson tied a career-high with 22 points and six rebounds, while junior Kane Williams just missed a double-double with 17 points and nine boards. Freshman Jalen Thomas made his third-straight start and scored a career-high 11 points while grabbing five rebounds.
Georgia State (7-3, 1-0 Sun Belt) extended its winning streak to six-straight games and won for the 10th-straight time at home dating back to last season.
