MARIETTA, Ga. – The Georgia State women’s soccer team opened the 2018 season with an exhibition vs. Charlotte Sunday afternoon at the North Atlanta Soccer Association Tophat field. The Panthers were able to test different lineups as well as provide each player meaningful minutes on the field.
The two teams competed for three 30-minute periods with five-minute intermissions in between.
While the final score yielded a 3-0 result in favor of Charlotte, GSU had some positive takeaways from their first official contest. The Panthers finished with three corner kicks while Charlotte had just one. Georgia State also stayed nearly even with its opponent in total shots, firing 11 total and four on goal while Charlotte had 14 total shots and six on goal.
