ATLANTA-Riding a two-game winning streak and looking to remain a top-two seed for the upcoming conference tournament, Georgia State will return to the road to face Appalachian State on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Holmes Convocation Center.
Georgia State (18-8, 9-4 Sun Belt) remains in second place in the Sun Belt Conference standings, one game behind Texas State for first place and one game ahead of Georgia Southern and UT Arlington with five games to play. A top two seed would guarantee the Panthers a double-bye into the league’s conference tournament semifinals in mid-March.
Appalachian State (9-16, 4-8 Sun Belt) has won three straight games at home following a nine-point win over Coastal Carolina on Saturday.
