WASHINGTON, D.C.-Despite a double-double from Josh Linder, Georgia State could not overcome 51 Georgetown free throw attempts and fell to the Hoyas 91-83 on Sunday night at Capital One Arena in the Panthers second game of the 2K Empire Classic benefiting Wounded Warrior Project.
Linder earned his second double-double of the season with 17 points and 11 rebounds, but Georgia State (1-3) was done in by 33 fouls which led to Georgetown (3-1) going 40-of-51 from the free throw line.
Redshirt-junior Corey Allen led the Panthers with 21 points, while senior Damon Wilson and redshirt-sophomore Justin Roberts each scored 15 points while pulling down four rebounds a piece.
