Panthers Fall to Eagles in Regular Season Finale

STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia State fell in its regular-season finale, 38-10, at Georgia Southern Saturday night as the Panthers suffered their first loss in Statesboro.

With seven victories, Georgia State (7-5, 4-4 Sun Belt) is bowl-eligible for the third time in five years, and bowl selections will be announced on Sunday, Dec. 8, following the conference championship games.

Senior quarterback Dan Ellington who battled a leg injury for the third-straight game went 18-for-27 for 182 yards.

Senior running back Tra Barnett who became the first Panther to rush for 2,000 career yards just a few weeks back led Georgia State on the ground with 15 rushes for 53 yards and a touchdown, while sophomore Destin Coates rushed four times for 54 yards.
