ATLANTA -- With the series already in hand, Georgia State fell 14-9 to Southern Miss in Sunday's series finale at the GSU Baseball Complex. The Panthers clinched the series by winning 18-8 Friday and 19-8 Saturday.
With its fourth Sun Belt series win, Georgia State (18-17) improved to 9-6 in the Sun Belt, good for a five-way tie for second place behind conference leader Louisiana.
The Panthers set program records for most runs scored (46) and most home runs (12) in a Sun Belt series.
On Sunday, Georgia State got homers from Jesse Donohoe, JoJo Jackson and Ryan Dyal, but Southern Miss (22-14, 9-6) hit four long balls to rally from a 6-1 deficit after four innings.
