ATLANTA -- Georgia State fell 4-3 to Bryant, which scored the winning run in top of the ninth in the series opener Friday at the GSU Baseball Complex.
The GSU (3-2) pitching staff allowed just four hits, but two of them were in the ninth as the Bulldogs (1-4) broke a 3-3 tie after Jake Gustin led off with a double and scored on a one-out triple by Shane Kelly.
Georgia State took an early 1-0 lead on Josh Smith's RBI-single in the first inning.
Bryant did not have a hit until the fifth inning, but the Bulldogs scored single runs in the fourth (on a bases-loaded hit batter), fifth (on a groudout) and sixth (on an error) to take a 3-1 lead.
