Georgia State held No. 14 West Virginia to just three hits but fell 3-2 in Sunday's series finale to split the four-game series at the GSU Baseball Complex.
The Mountaineers (2-2) scored the go-ahead runs in the sixth inning, pushing across two runs with the benefit of just one hit, a bunt single.
West Virginia struck first with an unearned run in the second, but Georgia State answered in the third. Josh Smith led off with a double to the left center gap, moved to third on a sacrifice and scored on ground ball to second base by Kyle Riesselmann.
