The loss dropped GSU to 4-8-2 overall and 1-4-1 in the Sun Belt while Georgia Southern improved to 5-7-1 on the year and 2-3-1 in conference play. Georgia Southern also gained one point in the annual Georgia State-Georgia Southern Rivalry Series, as Sunday gave the Eagles a 2-0 lead for the 2019-20 school year.
Georgia State found itself trailing less than one minute into Sunday’s contest as the Eagles notched a goal from a few yards outside the center of the 18-yard box just 25 seconds after the opening whistle.
