ATLANTA -- Georgia State dropped both ends of a doubleheader to Texas State, 10-5 (11) and 9-3, Saturday at the GSU Baseball Complex.
The Panthers fell to 17-18 overall, 5-9 in the Sun Belt. With the teams playing 29 innings in less than 28 hours, Texas State swept the series to improve to 20-15-1, 8-7 in the Sun Belt.
Catcher Nick Gatewood singled in the eighth inning of Game 1 to extend his hitting streak to 17 games, the longest by a Panther since 2013, but he was hitless in one pinch-hit at-bat in Game 2 to snap the streak.
