Box Score STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia State's seven-game win streak against rival Georgia Southern was snapped Saturday at Hanner Fieldhouse as the Eagles defeated the short-handed Panthers 81-56.
With only nine active players including five freshmen, Georgia State led out of the gates, but the Eagles used a 7-0 run at the end of the first quarter to take the lead. Georgia Southern led by as much as 10 in the second quarter before Georgia State closed the first half on an 11-3 run to cut GS's lead to 32-30 at the break.
Georgia Southern went on a 19-2 run midway through the third quarter to take control of the contest.
