TROY, Ala. – Sophie Mooney was dominant in the circle Tuesday as Georgia State took down Georgia Southern 4-1 in the first round of the Sun Belt Championship.
Mooney went the distance and allowed just one run while striking out eight. She also went 1-for-3 at the plate with a run scored.
"I felt more focused today after our result against Georgia Southern last week. I was loose and relaxed and I trusted my pitches," Mooney said.
Daisy Hess continued to lead the charge for GSU at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a double and a triple.
