Mitchell Hits Eight 3-Pointers; Panthers Fall to Madrid 82-77

MADRID – Despite eight 3-pointers from senior Devin Mitchell, Georgia State fell to the Madrid All-Stars 82-77 on Friday night.

Mitchell, who finished last season with 98 3-pointers, second-most in school history, scored 24 points while sophomore Kane Williams added 12 points for Georgia State.

Madrid took an early 8-2 lead and led by as many as 10 points before holding a 25-17 lead at the end of the first quarter.

“We came out a little slow which I had expected,” head coach Ron Hunter. “However, I was happy with the way we got things going in the second and third quarters.
