DELAND, Fla. – For the first time in school history, Georgia State men’s soccer has opened the first eight matches of the season without a loss. The Panthers earned a 1-0 victory over Stetson Tuesday night at the Athletic Training Center, surpassing the previous record of seven straight matches without a loss to start the year set in 1967.
GSU improved to 5-0-3 overall with the win, earning its second road victory after three straight draws as the away side. The win also moved Georgia State head coach Brett Surrency to 94 career victories, six away from becoming just the second head coach in school history to reach 100 wins.
