Men's Soccer Falls to Georgia Southern Saturday Night

ATLANTA – Georgia State men’s soccer dropped a back-and-fourth battle against rival Georgia Southern 2-1 Saturday night at the GSU Soccer Complex, snapping the Panthers’ five-match unbeaten streak against the Eagles.

The loss moved GSU to 6-2-3 overall and 0-1 in the Sun Belt while Georgia Southern went to 6-5-1 on the year and 1-0 in conference play. Georgia State also saw its seven-match home win streak come to an end on Saturday, a streak that dated back to the 2018 season.

Georgia Southern got on the board first in the 37th minute when PJ Amponsah scored a powerful strike from the right-hand side of the box off an assist from Adam Davie.
