Low-scoring Affair Goes Trojans' Way

TROY, Ala.- Georgia State was defeated 3-1 Friday night in Game 1 of the series at Troy.

Emily Soles had a superb outing in the circle for the Panthers. Soles held Troy scoreless through the first five innings before allowing one earned run in the bottom of the sixth.

Soles was effective in working around nine hits by the Trojans, making the big pitches when needed.

Down 3-0 in the top of the seventh, Kristin Hawkins launched her team-leading fourth home run of the season over the wall in left field.

That would be all for the Panthers, however, as the Trojans limited the GSU offense to one run on three hits.
