ATLANTA -- Luke Leonard hit a game-tying home run in the bottom of the ninth inning, but Georgia State fell 6-5 in 11 innings to Coastal Carolina Saturday at the GSU Baseball Complex.
The Panthers (12-32, 3-17 Sun Belt) rallied twice in the game, first by scoring four runs in the sixth inning to turn a 3-0 deficit into a 4-3 lead. After Coastal Carolina (26-17-1, 11-8 Sun Belt) tied the game with a run in the eighth and then took a 5-4 lead in the top of the ninth, Leonard led off the bottom of the ninth and hit the first pitch down the left field line and over the fence for his third homer of the season.
