Late Rally Comes Up Short; Panthers Fall 5-4 at No. 2 Vandy

Trying to defeat No. 2-ranked Vanderbilt for the second straight day, Georgia State tied the game with three runs in the seventh inning, but Vanderbilt prevailed 5-4 on a solo homer in the bottom of the seventh.

The Commodores (4-1) evened the series with GSU (3-4), which won 4-2 Friday. The series concludes with a doubleheader Sunday beginning at 1 p.m. ET at Hawkins Field.

The Panthers trailed 4-1 after six innings with their only run coming on a solo home run by DeAngelo Abboud, who went deep in the third inning for his first homer in a GSU uniform.
