ATLANTA -- Georgia State left-handed pitcher Tyler Koch has begun his professional baseball career by signing a free agent contract with the Sioux City Explorers of the American Association, a Major League Baseball partner league in pro baseball's new structure.
Koch completed his GSU career in 2021 as the only five-time letterwinner (2017-21) in program history. He ranks second in Panther annals with 82 career appearances, trailing only Jerry Stuckey (92).
The Cumming, Ga. native (South Forsyth High School) averaged better than one strikeout per inning over his career (139 strikeouts in 134.1 innings). Primarily a reliever, he also made 16 career starts, picking up two victories and two saves.
