ATLANTA – Lukas Joyner and Paul Tyson of Georgia State men’s soccer swept the Sun Belt’s Player of the Week awards, the league announced on Tuesday. Joyner nabbed Offensive Player of the Week while Tyson was named Defensive Player of the Week.
Joyner netted two goals in GSU’s 3-1 victory over Winthrop Saturday night at Eagle Field. He hit the equalizer in the 50th minute off a cross from Kwaku Adu-Boahene and scored again in the 58th minute to give the Panthers a two-goal advantage. The Macon, Ga., native ranks tied for second in the Sun Belt for the most goals in a single match with two.
